review policy

what i review:

i primarily read & review:
fantasy (YA and adult) — think magical worlds, dangerous prophecies, dragons, and morally gray chaos
romance — from cozy love stories to enemies who want to kiss and kill each other
cozy fantasy — soft magic, found family, and main characters who deserve a nap
dark/gothic vibes — haunting stories, creepy forests, and characters with secrets

if your book fits one (or more) of these — i’m probably interested. if it’s way outside these genres, please reach out before sending so we’re on the same page.

formats i accept:

✅ physical copies (preferred — my bookshelf loves new friends)
✅ ebooks (mobi, epub, or pdf)
✅ audiobooks (for the multitasking era)

how my reviews work:

  • all reviews are honest and unfiltered, even if i didn’t love the book (no sugarcoating here — but i’m always respectful).

  • my reviews are posted on:

    • my website (bookishbelleblair.com)

    • goodreads

    • instagram (usually with a photo or reel)

  • i focus on vibes, voice, and feelings, not just plot. expect humor, chaos, and hot takes.

  • spoiler-light (i’ll warn if anything major gets mentioned)

timing & requests:

  • if your book is an ARC or new release, please indicate the release date so i can prioritize if possible.

  • i can’t guarantee a specific turnaround time unless we agree beforehand (because life is a whole thing).

  • i reserve the right to decline books that aren’t a good fit — no hard feelings, promise.

how to request a review:

email me at [your email address] with:

  • book title & author

  • genre & age range

  • release date (if applicable)

  • format you’re offering

  • a short blurb (just a taste — hook me like a reader, not a press release)

a few no-go’s:

❌ genres i’m not a good fit for: hard sci-fi, political thrillers, non-fiction, and heavy military fiction
❌ hate speech, discrimination, or harmful content = hard pass
❌ books that treat marginalized characters like props or trauma dumps = also no

thank you!

whether you’re an indie author, traditionally published, or somewhere in between — i’m so excited to discover new stories and help amplify books i love. let’s make some book magic. ✨
